Assignment 4:Conceptual Designs and Prototypes

Assignment 4:Conceptual Designs and Prototypes

As discussed from the previous posts, the user persona wants an option where she can add a review on the movie or TV show that she have watched or going to watch. The picture above shows the mock-up of the interface from Netflix based on the use case diagram, use case table and Hierarchical Task Analysis (HTA). Based on the interface above, there is like and dislike option for the user. The stars beside those options shows the average number of rating given by the previous users. The use case from previous post should let the user write a review on the movie or TV show the user have watched. So, there is a space left below the like and dislike option where the user can use it to give comments and reviews of the preferred movie or TV series. Therefore, there are three options for the user to give review

  • Like/dislike button
  • Stars
  • Comments
The interface is designed as such because it will make rating easier for the user as they will go for their preferred way of rating. The user could also see what other users commented and the average stars given to that particular TV show or movie.

Scenario

On Wednesday, Vinitha got home around 6.30pm after working on her final year project. She felt so tired. She thought to herself that she needed to do something to get herself relaxed. So, she decided to watch her favorite TV show in Netflix.
Vinitha logs on to Netflix and searched for her favorite TV show, “13 Reasons Why”. As she clicks on the TV show button, she realized that only one episode is left for the season. There are only 2 seasons for the TV show. After watching the final episode in Season 2, Vinitha felt bored.
She wanted to start watching a new TV show. She started scrolling and searching for a nice TV show, she found that Netflix has some recommendations based on what she have watched. So, Vinitha clicked on each TV show to watch the trailer of the particular TV show. She realized that there are no reviews available on those TV shows. She thinks that it is important to have reviews for those TV shows to see the Netflix user’s point of view of the show. In the end, she did not watch any new TV shows as she did not find any TV show that is interesting.
